Hello, I want to thank all of you for turning in your projects last week. I really enjoyed seeing your work and what you decided to focus on with your documentary. Well done everyone. There were some artists who came to mid as we were discussing the documentary. I wanted to give you their names again and give examples of the their work. The first is Ed Ruscha. Ed was a pioneer in California art. One of his projects was to photograph the Sunset strip in it's entirety. You can read more about him at his website. http://www.edruscha.com/ The Second is Japanese photographer Sugimoto. He created a series of photographs based on Natural History displays and Wax Museums. http://www.sugimotohiroshi.com/ Another photographer is Rodchenko a Russian Constructivist artist. http://www.masters-of-photography.com/R/rodchenko/rodchenko.html, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Rodchenko Lastly we are starting our next Major assignment, Environmental Portrait. I would like you to reach out and ask someone to be your subject. Start thinking about where you would like to photograph them. It's important to think about what the background will inform the viewer about the person. Your weekly assignment is to photograph at the highest ISO your camera can be set to. For example, 3200 or 6400. Shoot and edit 10 images for presentation. Add Comment | AuthorDavid Calicchio is a photographer working in Los Angeles.
